About AutoMotor News
[DRAFT: first-draft copy awaiting the owner's sign-off. Not final.]
AutoMotor News is a news site for people buying, selling or owning a used car in the United States. We cover safety recalls and defect investigations, title brands, odometer rollback, flood and salvage cars, vehicle theft, and dealer and marketplace scams. We also publish guides and our own data studies.
Who publishes us
AutoMotor News is published by Lln group, UAB, which has the same owners as Zilocar, a company that sells vehicle history reports.
Lln group, UAB is registered in Lithuania (company code 307043594, Pakraščio g. 10-111, LT-11342 Vilnius, Lithuania).
Because of that shared ownership, sales of Zilocar reports can benefit the people who own AutoMotor News. We want you to know that when you read us, so we show it in these ways:
- Every link to Zilocar is marked as sponsored (with
rel="sponsored"in the page code) and carries a short note about the shared ownership, like this: Zilocar Zilocar has the same owners as AutoMotor News. - When a story uses Zilocar data, we say so and credit Zilocar as the source. That data reaches us only as totals, never as records about a single car or person.
- Pages that compare vehicle history reports, including Zilocar's, open with an ownership disclosure.
How we work
Stories start from primary sources: recall filings, court and government records, and our own data. They are prepared with AI assistance, checked claim by claim against their sources, and reviewed by a named person before anything is published. The byline on every story reads "AutoMotor News Newsroom, reviewed by" followed by that person's name.
Read more in our editorial policy, our AI policy and how we handle corrections. The people who review stories are listed on the Newsroom page.
